USCRI Brings Together Ambassadors, Advocates and Members of Congress To Celebrate its Centennial

WHAT: On October 19, 2011, the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) will celebrate their 100th anniversary with a black-tie gala that is sure to bring out the beltway elite crowd. The evening’s program will include a special performance by the acclaimed recording artist Wyclef Jean and an award presentation of two Awards to President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Senator Edward Kennedy for their outstanding contributions on behalf of refugee and immigrants.
For the past 100 years, USCRI has helped shape our nation’s history. From publishing the first book on U.S. citizenship, establishing the first program to offer pro bono legal assistance helping refugees from war-torn places like Europe, Vietnam, Cuba, Burma, Iraq, and Sudan, USCRI has led the way in helping refugees and immigrants achieve their American dream.
